Identity Design & Creative Direction of Dinner Confidential
In October 2018 I launched Dinner Confidential alongside my two friends and co-founders Veronica Marquez and Sybil Ottenstien. Dinner Confidential is a 2-year project to explore how women approach life’s challenges and joys through intimate monthly dinners. Birthing this creative baby was a labor of love by our entire team! And DISCOVERING this O+O symbol as it's identity mark has so far been one of the most rewarding moments in my career as a designer. It acts as the gatekeeper for the organization and keeps us accountable to the cycles of life that have gone before us and will continue after us. The brand world around Dinner Confidential revolves around this 🕳️SHADOW CHARACTER🕳️ which receives cues from the teachings of Carl Jung-- toeing the line between the conscious and the subconscious. The shadow is non-judgemental, experiential, and free. On a Brand Development level-- the shadow acts as a means by which we uphold our name & values (ie: Confidentiality) as a not-for-profit organization. This is my favorite thing about the brand beyond the initial O+O symbol. In addition to creating these playful shadow illustrations for our monthly reports, I also oversee and all Creative Direction on our comms (including the Website, Medium & Social). Our website was developed by our very talented friend Sancar Ayalp who is based in Brooklyn. Since we kicked off in October we have now grown to 6 cities around the world and have covered topics such as Love, Failure, & Courage.
