All of my work draws on the use of symbols/symbolism. I use them to discover, guide, simplify, and express complex stories. Sometimes I use them as seed for a larger concept or produce them as a visual object. When I say symbols I mean stuff like...

Why symbols?
Symbols have superpowers.💥They are emotional, dreamy, and weird. They crack open spaces between the tangible experience and all our subconscious feels. They are everywhere! They are timeless! Before written language we recorded our thoughts, feelings, & experiences through marks, pictures, & symbols. Heck- we even launched them into space!

Symbols are powerful. Think about it...
Symbols are time capsules carrying ideas across civilizations...
They rule our everyday language, and sponge up our pop-culture values
Some are totems we claim for identity rank & status
Others are used to communicate and modulate societal values
We even process our life through strange and unexpected symbols while we dream
Symbols are in space! We put them there via Voyager 1 — just in case there is intelligent life out there
